Idyllic cottage location - beautiful views and very quiet. Central to the Hunter Valley vineyards, short drive to all the major wineries. Very comfortable accommodation.Liked the wood fire especially (the weather was cold at the time). I would highly recommend the Berenbell Vineyard Retreat.

The cosiness of the wood fireplace. Comfortable beds and big en suites. Comfortable lounge seating with firm cushions. Just right for 2 couples with upstairs and downstairs bedrooms for privacy.
Nothing to dislike but would prefer some fruit in the breakfast offering.

I loved the atmosphere, the rooms were perfect clean and tidy and the views were wonderful, a lovely, quiet retreat.
The only thing I would have liked was its own restaurant.

Only a 2.5 hour drive from Sydney the Berenbell offers a completely relaxing environment in the sought after Hunter with views across the valley. Whilst afforded the utmost privacy we were assured that the host and hostess were not far away, offering valuable advice and directions. They opened the door to great us by name when we arrived and then again at checkout. We had kangaroos at our doorstep, and sunsets that were magic. We were delighted with the accommodation.

A simple concept of individual chalets with kangaroos passing at will. A knowledgeable and helpful host
We were inundated by slugs during poring rain, but, as was said, we were in the country

We found the Berenbell Vineyard Retreat a fabulous spot to relax and unwind. We could sit outside and read or sit with friends and chat over wine and cheese under the verandah. This place is awesome. It is central to all the boutique wineries, wonderful restaurants, gardens and all the other foodie and craft businesses nearby. We went on short day trips to the historic towns of Morpeth and Wolombi. It was always a wonderful treat returning to Berenbell for a quiet wine and a read. We particularly enjoyed seeing the Kangaroos feeding in at dawn and dusk in front of our cottage. We were able to amble along the road just a short distance to a variety of restaurants.(no need to take the car) This is a unique, wonderful place to stay. The Managers were a very nice friendly couple who could not do enough for us. The pantry was stocked with Breakfast foods and wine which we appreciated. Go to Berrenbell and see for yourselves. You will love it. ps. We stayed an extra night !!!!
